About Us

Welcome to Skjeljavika — a small, family-run place on Norway’s north-western coast with wide sea views toward the Northern Islands, quiet evenings, and great hiking right from the door.

We breed Icelandic horses and love to share the calm, steady spirit of the breed. You’ll see horses around the farm and can join relaxed rides when available.

Our cozy waterfront cabins make an easy base for couples, families, and small groups who want nature, space, and simple comfort.

For guests who want time on the water, we also rent out a Kværnø 585 with Yamaha 115 hp and Garmin fish finder — ideal for fishing or sightseeing between islands. The boat is moored in the local marina, about 2.5 km from the cabins. We’re happy to share fishing tips and safe-boating guidance.

Whether you come for horses, fishing, sightseeing or just slow mornings by the fjord, Skjeljavika is a peaceful base to recharge and make simple, memorable days.

“We spent our Easter holidays at Torbjørn’s place. Nice, cozy, spacious and well-equipped cabin with beautiful views of the sea and nearby islands. Peaceful, calm location with wonderful wildlife all around. Great value for money, perfect for both short and long stays. Torbjørn and his family were great hosts, very accommodating, welcoming and helpful. Communication from the booking and throughout our stay was easy and prompt. We got some great hiking tips as well, the view from the top was worth every step. We enjoyed our stay very much. Highly recommend staying here!” (ref. cabin guests)

“It’s a very cool place, the views are great. Mornings and evenings are the best. If you want to experience North, great place to do so. Horses all over the surroundings, birds chirping. Heaven on earth for someone like me who enjoys nature over city buzz. Thanks again for your hospitality.” (ref. cabin guests)
